Our mission
MindStrong Cancer Warriors is dedicated to supporting cancer patients by covering the cost of mental health therapies that are often not covered by insurance. We believe that the battle against cancer extends beyond the physical—it involves the mind as well. Our mission is to ensure that every cancer warrior has access to the emotional and psychological support they need, empowering them to heal and stay strong throughout their journey. We are here to bridge the gap between physical and mental recovery, because no one should have to face cancer alone, in body or mind.
25-30% of cancer patients experience clinical depression. This rate is significantly higher than the general population, where depression affects about 7% of people annually.
40-50% of people diagnosed with cancer report experiencing significant anxiety. This includes fears about treatment, the future, and the potential for relapse. In comparison, only about 18% of the general population experiences anxiety disorders.
60-70% of cancer patients experience a decrease in their quality of life, which is not only related to physical symptoms but also to emotional and psychological distress. The emotional burden of the disease often outweighs physical symptoms for many.
40% of cancer survivors face long-term mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, and fear of recurrence. Survivors are also more likely to experience chronic stress compared to individuals without a cancer history.
30-40% of cancer patients report feeling socially isolated, which exacerbates their mental health challenges. This is particularly true for patients undergoing prolonged or intensive treatment, where fatigue and physical changes affect their ability to engage socially.
The emotional toll of a cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming. The uncertainty of the disease, fear of death, and concerns about how treatment will affect daily life can cause significant mental distress. Many patients experience feelings of hopelessness and helplessness, especially during the early stages of diagnosis.
Even after treatment, cancer survivors often struggle with "survivor's guilt," anxiety about relapse, and difficulty adjusting to life after cancer. Post-treatment mental health challenges are common, as individuals may feel isolated or disconnected from their pre-cancer identity.
At MindStrong Cancer Warriors, we believe that cancer care extends beyond treatment—it's about healing the mind as well as the body. We provide crucial financial support for mental health therapies, covering costs that insurance often ignores.
